Make-up and Hair

May 28, 2010 · Wedding Advice

I have talked about this very important thing more than once. It’s very important to do a trial run with both vendors to make sure you get what you have envisioned for your special day! Lynn Eason with Divine Inspirations Make-Up Studio, is the best choice for your wedding. I personally used Lynn for my wedding and she is a miracle worker!! I woke up with a nice zit on my cheek and Lynn fixed it all up and you couldn’t even see it. Airbrush make-up helps you look flawless and makes your pictures even better!!

Register

Going to a store with that fun little scan gun and picking out stuff you want is so much fun!! Whoever invented this is a genius!! Everyone has different taste and needs so you can let people know what you like! There are so many places you can register but you want to make sure that all your out-of-town guests have a larger store to chose from like Target or Bed, Bath & Beyond. Put several items on your registry. This rule is double your guest count and that’s how many items you need to show. Don’t be afraid to add those bigger items. Most stores will give you a 10% discount on any item not purchased from your registry. That’s always helpful to save a little money when you can. I know my husband had no desire to be involved with it but made me a list of items he would like to have. I personally no nothing about cooking so he’s the cook in our family and he chose some great kitchen gear that has made some very delicious dinners!!

Etiquette of weddings, says that sending where you are registered in your invitations is a huge no-no. Having them listed on your custom website or sending them in bridal shower invites are acceptable.

Centerpieces and Favors

May 26, 2010 · Wedding Advice

When your guests enter your reception, the decor is what is noticed. Aside from the chair covers and liens :) , the centerpieces make your tables! I personally like seeing a mixture of centerpieces…some smaller, some taller and some more dramatic. They all should coordinate but still be different. Use different items and textures to give a different feel to the tables.

I’ve seen so many favors fitting the wedding theme, color, couples favorite items, etc. Be creative with these too. What will your guests use and want to take with them? You spend how much money on these and don’t want them to end up back at your house!!

The one’s I remember most… Olive Oil, Starbucks Coffee, a CD of music special to the couple, small bottles of wine, and a bag of movie candy and popcorn.
